Remove Pet Hair From Your Listing

By Dana Fiori

If you have a furry friend, you most likely know the struggle of pet hair. Tumbleweeds of fur floating around are a natural occurrence, but that is not what potential buyers want to see when they are viewing your home. In fact, it’s a good idea to make it seem as if there are no pets living in the home at all. It may seem like an impossible feat, but it can be done.

Rubber Glove Method

Brushing the hair off of your couch or chairs works for the time being, but when you are getting ready to show your home, you want the furniture to look pristine without a dog or cat hair in sight. The best method to rid your furniture from fur is a damp (dry also works) rubber glove. This method will clean your couches like never before and give you the ability to scoop up all the hair stuck to the sofa.

Hair Vacuum

When you have shedding pets, vacuums are your best friend. But did you know that the regular old vacuum you’re using to suck up the fur all over your house isn’t doing the very best? Invest in a specialty pet vacuum to get extra suction of stubborn hair that won’t seem to leave the carpets and floors and every inch of your home. Ridding your home of any hair is essential for when your home is on the market.

Anti-Static Spray

There is nothing more irritating than taking the time to clean pet hair off of your couch, for it just to reappear a few moments later. When you use anti-static spray on your furniture it prevents the pet hair from clinging for easier removal or less of an attachment at all!

Microfiber Dry Mop

Vacuuming hardwood or tile floors does not always work the best it could—hair usually gets blown around rather than sucked up. Regular mopping also isn’t the best when it comes to cleaning and removing fur from floors, which is why if you are trying to attack all the pet hair in your home you need a microfiber dry mop. The microfiber catches all the stray hairs and makes it much easier and more efficient to clean.

Fabric Softener

Did you know that fabric softener not only makes your clothes smell delightful, but it also doubles as a heavy-duty pet hair remover? Mix your favorite fabric softener and some water in a spray bottle, mist over your furniture, and wipe away the fluff! It’s as easy as that, and you get a fresh smelling couch out of it.
