Six Trends to Watch in 2019

Wood Accents

Handcrafted and unique pieces are expected to make a comeback in 2019. Whether it is a bathroom vanity or coffee table, bringing nature into the home is something experts predict to see present in homes this year. Handcrafted wood pieces take the prize for attention to detail and making a statement in any room.

Neutral Furniture

With a color of the year like Living Coral, there’s no wonder why furniture is likely staying neutral in 2019. Warm up the icy grays that have been popular for the past few years with a classic and elegant neutral ottoman or rug. A classic piece of furniture in a timeless neutral can add elegance to any room. Pair neutral furniture with a brightly colored accent wall or throw pillows for a striking contrast.

Darker Kitchens

The all-white kitchen is losing popularity and color is slowly being added back into cooking spaces. This year the prediction is black will be the color of choice bringing in modern touches. Pair black cabinets with a light-colored countertop for a sleek finish and contrast. Changing out hardware is also a simple approach to bring modern touches in without breaking the bank.

Wallpaper Accent Walls

Can’t seem to choose the right paint color? You may just be in luck because wallpaper is making a come-back in 2019. Adding it to a single wall in a room adds a touch of flair and color to any room. Whether it’s a children space, living room or office space there is a wallpaper pattern for all tastes and styles. Can’t commit to a wallpaper? Try temporary; you’ll get the same look without the long-term commitment.

Small Office Spaces

More and more companies are allowing employees to work from home occasionally, so naturally, home offices are often a necessity. Whether it is a small corner or a converted closet, finding space to work is important.  Not everyone has an extra bedroom ready to be converted into a home office so compact desks and tables are a must.

Animal Print

Patterns are the latest craze amongst experts like Shutterstock and Apartment Therapy. Apartment Therapy specifically announced their new pattern of the year campaign, and cheetah print came out on top for 2019. Wall prints and throw rugs are popular choices for experimenting with this trend.
